COURSES

Depending on semester selections from the prior school year, it is suggested that students, who enrolled in course 1, now select course 2. (Conversely, students who enrolled in course 2 this year should enroll in course 1) This applies to both semester selections.

WELLNESS/FITNESS/MINDFULNESS

Fall: Power Walking (use of heart monitor), Strength training
Spring: Yoga, Cardio Kickboxing, Step Aerobics, Body Sculpturing

PHYSICAL EDUCATION 9TH AND 10TH GRADES

Semester I - 9th and 10th grade
Course 1: Soccer and Flag Football
Course 2: Volleyball and Basketball

Semester II - 9th and 10th grade
Course 1: Team Handball, Aerobics, Weight Training
Course 2: Ultimate Frisbee/Softball

PHYSICAL EDUCATION 11TH AND 12TH GRADES

Semester I - 11th and 12th grade
Course 1: Badminton, Ultimate Frisbee
Course 2: Archery, Volleyball

Semester II - 11th and 12th grade
Course 1: Floor Hockey, Square Dance
Course 2: Tennis, Golf, Pickle Ball

SPORTS EDUCATION SELECT PROGRAM (Grade 11-12 elective)
Sports Education focuses on the roles students need to assume in order for sport or physical activity to function as a valued opportunity for everyone.  In sports education, skills, strategies, rules and conventions are taught in context of the execution in game situations.  In short, it is a class that attempts to prepare students for the adult roles they will assume as parents and members of families, neighborhoods and communities.  Students must be self-directed, mature and must have demonstrated success in the regular physical education program.  Students will assume roles of player, coach, organizer, official, exercise specialist, manager and statistician.  Enrollment in this course is determined by the professional physical education staff.

Spring --Team Handball, Softball

OUTDOOR EDUCATION

Fall -- Orienteering, Hiking, Canoeing

Spring -- PA low & high elements, Mountain Biking, Fishing, Camping, Backpacking, Archery, Sailing
