Where Are YOU Going in the REAL New Millennium?

Have you been wondering what trips you’re going on? And what you’ll be studying? Well you’re about to find out.

The kindergarteners went to Hofstra Playhouse. They saw the Paper Bag Players for fun. They will be going to the Long Island Children's Museum. They will be going for science fun. The last trip the kindergarteners will be going on is the Bronx Zoo. They will be studying zoo animals.

The first graders will be going to the Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary. They will be studying Animal Adaptations. The last trip the first graders will be going on is T. Roosevelt Science Center. They will be studying shore ecology and sea life.

The second graders will be going to Nassau County Government Offices. They will be studying communities, how they work, and how they are run. The only other trip the second graders will be going on is Vanderbilt Planetarium. They will be studying the solar system.

The third graders went to Theodore Roosevelt Bird Sanctuary. They studied tide pool life. They also are going to Hicksville Museum. They will study rocks and minerals. The last trip they will go on is to the United Nations. They will study how countries come together.

The fourth graders went on a trip to Cold Spring Harbor Museum. They studied whales. They also went to the Fire Island Lighthouse. They studied lighthouses. They studied the Townsends who used to live in the Raynham Hall Museum. Mrs. Ajello’s class went on a special trip to The New York Times thanks to Rachel Kramer, whose dad is the vice president of The New York Times. Mr. Sficos’s class also went on a special trip. They went to Project Adventure. The last trip the fourth graders will be going on is to SoundWaters.

The fifth graders will be going to the Liberty Science Center. They will be studying Antarctica. They will also be going to the Caumsett State Park. They will be studying weather. The third trip they will be going on is the Voyage of the Mimi (Norwalk) and Maritime Museum. They will be studying the ocean. The end of the year trip is going to be a big one!! All of the fifth graders will be going to either Boston or Philly at the end of the year.

The PEP core group has many different trips. The third grade PEP group will be studying biodiversity through fossils records with a consultant. They will be studying biodiversity. The fourth grade PEP core group will be going to the Cold Spring Harbor DNA Learning Center. They studied DNA. They will also be going to the American Museum of the Moving Image after they study pptical illusions. The fifth grade PEP core group went to the Wall Street/ Financial District. They studied economics and the stock market. Their next trip will be a Mock Trial Competition. They have been studying law and trial techniques.

Those have been and will be your trips for the school year 2000-2001
