Ask Guggi

Dear Guggi,

I’ve got a bunch of friends. During recess we have acting contests. There are two judges, rules etc. I’ve been playing this game for several days and not once have I won. The other two contestants always win. This isn’t fair one bit. I tried telling my friends how I feel, but they said, "If you don’t like it, play with other kids.” We agreed in the beginning no one would get upset if they lost. My problem is I like the game and my friends. I’ve tried to hold in crying but nothing is working. Guggi, what should I do?

From,

Confused

 Dear Confused,

I know you like the games and I know you feel sad because you never win. You shouldn’t blame it on your friends because they don’t judge you. Maybe you should practice acting at home. Another possibility is you can ask your friends if you can have new judges for a week and if you win maybe it was the judges. Just remember, never stop playing the game if you really like it. So just keep trying your hardest.

Dear Guggi,

This is room 10, Ms. Haworth’s class. We all want to know why the hallways are colder than the classrooms? Thank you for taking our question!

From,

Cold

Dear Cold,

The reason the hallways are colder than the classrooms is because when the doors of the classrooms are open they let all the cold air out into the hall and that’s why the hallways are colder than the classrooms.

Dear Guggi,

Can they put a tire swing in the big kids playground? I really want one because I think they’re lots of fun.

From,

Tire Swing

Dear Tire Swing,

I think your idea is very interesting. If you really want a tire swing you should take your idea and tell it to Ms. Creash. Ms. Creash is in charge of making decisions like that.

Dear Guggi,

I think it’s unfair that chorus is mandatory. Two years ago it wasn’t. What’s up with that?

From,

Angry

Dear Angry,

A lot of people share the same feelings as you. We asked Ms. Creash why chorus was mandatory and her response was that "chorus is mandatory because chorus is part of the elementary school program in all elementary schools and we want to give everyone the opportunity to perform on stage.”

Dear Guggi,

Why are people mean to the Earth?

From,

Earth Protector

Dear Earth Protector,

Some people don’t respect the Earth as much as others. When people don’t take care of the Earth it is very bad. If you want to help people to stop from being mean to the Earth every time they try to litter or something, tell them not to and explain that what they’re doing is very bad. You just have to remember YOU shouldn’t be mean to the Earth.

From,

Guggi
