On Your Mark...

On your mark, get set, GO! It’s FIELD DAY again! That’s right! On May 28, 1999, red, white, and blue colors will be all over Guggenheim’s fields. Kids will be playing all sorts of games. Running the events will be Mrs. Vogeley, Mr. Sficos, and you guessed it . . . Mr. Makover. This reporter stopped by to see Mr. Sficos, who said, ”We try to improve the games to make them more fun for the kids.” When this reporter asked Mr. Makover about the long wait between events, he said, “We’re working on it.”

Fourth and fifth graders can expect races and balloon tossing. Second and third graders have potato sack and relay races in store. The first graders and kindergartners have a special treat to look forward to. . . a treasure hunt! They will also have other events, including an obstacle course.

Some fourth graders had comments about Field Day. Sean said, "The relay races are my favorite.” Michael said, ”I don’t like the potato sack; my favorite is the egg race.” Kyle, a kindergartner, said, ”I can’t wait for the treasure hunt!”
So, rain, rain, stay away and everybody get ready for a really fun day!
