Want to buy a book? Then Mrs. Picciano’s class has you covered. Mrs. Picciano’s class read an article in Time For Kids about U.N.I.C.E.F. and how U.N.I.C.E.F. helped children with polio. As a class they wanted to help the children also. The fourth and fifth graders were asked to bring books from home. The books people bring are books they don’t need. Mrs. Picciano’s class sells the books to the fourth and fifth graders in return for all of the books that they brought. Each book costs fifty cents. The money they raise they send to U.N.I.C.E.F. and U.N.I.C.E.F sends the money to people all around the world.

Mrs. Picciano’s class met their goal to collect money for children. The U.N.I.C.E.F. book sale went very well. Over 200 books were collected. Wow! Their goal was to collect 200 books. They had their book sale in February. That is when the books were sold to the fourth and fifth graders. That is great! Needy people will be helped by Mrs. Picciano’s class. We’re all very proud of them!
